DigiPro is a communication platform for pharmaceutical companies that allows medical representatives at pharmaceutical companies to provide drug information to medical professionals such as doctors and pharmacists. We spoke to Kota Tatsumi of the Pharmaceutical IT Services Group, Healthcare Services Department at Infocom Corporation, the company that provides the service, about the background to the adoption of AmiVoice and its effectiveness.

Background and Challenges in Using Speech Recognition

We want to reduce the workload of MRs/MSLs by implementing voice input.

Previously, when MRs/MSLs reported the results of their interviews with medical professionals, they often had to type the reports into daily reporting systems, etc., which was a heavy burden, and we had been hearing complaints. We had been considering several measures to see if we could reduce the burden of reporting work even a little by implementing a voice input function into DigiPro.
"AmiVoice" boasts the largest market share in the domestic voice recognition system industry, and is widely used by domestic pharmaceutical companies not only for MR activities but also in call centers, etc. Due to its high recognition and trust, many have said that "we can implement integration with AmiVoice with confidence," and after evaluating and considering several alternatives, we decided to adopt the AmiVoice SDK.

Introduction Results

Create reports during your travel time, making effective use of your time

MRs/MSLs at domestic pharmaceutical companies who provide information on their company's drugs to medical professionals use the voice recognition function built into AmiVoice SDK to report the results of their interviews using their own voice, and then report the results to their superiors.
The introduction of voice input has led to improved productivity and reduced the time it took to input reports. Because reports can now be made during spare time while traveling, employees have reported that they have been able to reduce overtime, learn about the company's products and disease/treatment information, and use their time more effectively to improve their own skills.
