In August 2010, Hitachi Industry & Control Solutions, Ltd. introduced a "Sorting System Using Voice Recognition Technology at Logistics Centers" that utilizes our voice recognition technology, AmiVoice, as a means of improving the efficiency of product delivery operations to each store at the Ginza Cozy Corner logistics center.
In 2017, in order to further improve operational efficiency, the company began discussing specifications with Ginza Cozy Corner's information systems department and logistics center, and introduced a new sorting system equipped with the latest deep learning (DNN)-compatible AI voice recognition engine for Android devices.

Aiming for high-quality, high-precision delivery sorting

By utilizing voice recognition, hands-free and eyes-free operation is achieved, and compared to the touch panel format of the handheld terminals that were previously used, work efficiency per hour increased by 20% and the error rate was reduced by 84%, to 1/125,000, demonstrating the high effectiveness of the system.
The renewal included the introduction of the voice recognition development kit "AmiVoice SDK for Android." The improved response speed due to improved device specifications and the improved voice recognition accuracy due to the implementation of deep learning technology resulted in a 20% increase in work efficiency and a 62% reduction in error rate, down to 1 in 33, compared to before the renewal. Furthermore, the microphones connected to the devices were renewed to a wireless type, significantly reducing the risk of connection failures that occurred when wired microphones were used.

Improve delivery accuracy through voice recognition and voice synthesis

By introducing this system, sorting work can be done using voice recognition and voice synthesis, with "synthesized voice instructions for sorting products" and "verbal confirmation," allowing employees to check the destination without taking their eyes off the products, improving delivery accuracy. Also, by freeing both hands, products can be handled more carefully.
